 In 2009 Bruce Springsteen was the featured halftime show for Super Bowl XLIII. With Super Bowl XLVIII being held in New Jersey, the home state of Bruce Springsteen, The NFL had decided that it wanted to get Bruce Springsteen and his music involved with the Super Bowl XLVIII's festivities, being that Bruce Springsteen was not an option.A year long campaign was undertaken by The NFL, IMG Media and PPW to find the best tribute band to represent the music of Bruce Springsteen. That campaign ended in the hiring of Tramps Like Us. Tramps Like Us performed at both the halftime show at Super Bowl Media Day and at The Official NFL Tailgate Party in NFL Plaza on Super Bowl Sunday in front of MetLife Stadium. Tramps Like Us, whom The NFL calls "The planet’s most revered Bruce Springsteen Tribute Band" holds the distinction as being selected over all other Springsteen tribute bands by The NFL to perform at 2 major events surrounding Super Bowl XLVIII in New Jersey.
